Nestling against a backdrop of hills between Nerja (4km) and Frigiliana (1km), La Molineta is a 300 year old watermill in a small hamlet of houses within a surrounding wall, and has recently been declared a ‘Protected Property of Outstanding Attraction’ by the Spanish authorities. Lovingly restored over the last 40 years, each of the houses has its own individual character and furnishings, much superior to the usual holiday villa. It has been featured in several interior design magazines and the larger houses in particular are furnished with antiques, fine paintings and other works of art.
The houses are entirely private from each other and are on different levels, linked by a series of steps and pathways. The beautiful terraced gardens are a special feature of La Molineta and are full of colour, scented shrubs and fruit trees. Each has its own private garden, BBQ and terrace as well as their own private pools. Wood burning stoves are provided for cooler evenings. The houses can be booked individually by couples or families, or 2 or more houses can be taken together by a larger party.
Next door to La Panificadora (SST004), Casa Rosa was originally the bakery of the Molineta hamlet and has been beautifully converted into an unusual holiday home, full of charm and character. Many old features of the house have been retained, with modern comforts and stylish paintings added. At the back of the house, the pretty paved and walled garden, vine covered dining terrace (with BBQ) and dark blue tiled pool (lit at night, 6m x 4m, depth 0.9m to 1.5m, with roman steps) make Casa Rosa an excellent choice at any time of year, and the easy access to both Frigiliana (1 km, where there are several restaurants and small shops) and the beaches and greater variety of amenities of Nerja (4 km) is a real bonus.
Two storeys. Steps from parking area up to front door. Kitchen with full cooker, fridge, microwave and dishwasher, lounge with TV, DVD and CD player and wood burning stove, archway through to dining room with french windows opening onto the dining and sun terraces and pool. Twin bedroom and bathroom with shower, handbasin and WC on this level. Upstairs is an air-conditioned/heated (at no extra charge) double bedroom with balcony offering sea and mountain views, plus a further bathroom with washing machine.
Twice weekly cleaning and weekly linen change. Any day arrivals in Winter months, Saturday changeover between 3 Apr - 29 Oct 2010.
Pets Allowed. Linen: Included with towels. A chargeable welcome hamper is available, and can be ordered when booking.
